Late edits are fine. Late surprises are not. The checklist exists so a wording change cannot silently drop the excerpt, the image alt text, or the tag.
Confirm title, slug, excerpt, tags, and feature image before the send. Then change sentences if you need to. The document can move. The metadata should already be settled.
If a change needs a new slug, that is a new post. Do not rewrite a live URL the morning of a send.
